Grace

Sometimes we’re faced with things in life that are beyond our abilities, or, we’re in need of support beyond what we have in the moment. I believe this is where grace comes in. And I believe we can invoke more of it to help support us in magical ways.

Recovering from an anxiety disorder requires a lot of GRACE... A lot.

So what is grace? That's a great question!

I've never truly defined it in words (it's more just been a knowing and an experience), and in fact, it's only been in this past year that I've stepped into this place of living with grace.

The word came to me in a way that I knew intuitively it was going to be very important on my journey, but at the time I first heard it from my intuition, I wasn't yet capable of living with grace.

So what is it? I would define grace as living according to your values (taking action and behaving according to your values), especially when things are difficult. To me, grace is invoking a higher power (whether that's your highest self, Love, God, the Universe... we all might call it different things or experience it a little differently). I would say that grace is the ability to see Love and the possibilities, even when a part of you is terrified, or believes something bad is happening. But let's see what Webster has to say:

grace

ɡrās/

noun

a:  unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctificationb:  a virtue coming from God c:  a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace

So essentially what's being said is to be freely given help from Divine (God, Love, the Universe...) in order to regrow or become more of Love. ❤️❤️❤️

How do we invoke grace? I believe it requires a willingness to surrender.

I'll give a quick example: I was speaking with my mentor just today when some feelings of anxiety came up, seemingly for no reason. I could've resisted these feelings, focused on them, wanted them to go away, but instead, invoking grace, I welcomed them, surrendered to them, and allowed myself to continue on in the conversation present to what was important to me, which was to speak authentically from my highest self, connect, learn, and grow.

It's simple, but not always easy. Human nature wants us to relieve pain the instant we feel it. But if we can begin to invoke grace and welcome what is moving through us, we give ourselves space to be our true selves, and to feel the freedom that comes from surrender, acceptance, and feeling that deep Love that is always taking care of us, always.

Xoxo,

Angie
