How to Stop Caring What Other People Think
I don’t know a single person who hasn’t experienced the fear of being judged at some point or another. The fear can be so strong that it stops us from saying what we want to say, or being ourselves. The antidote for this fear often comes in the form of courageous action. Try it out and see the magic unfold in your life…
✨ That pesky fear of being judged... ✨
How does it show up in your life?
I know I experience it when I think about putting myself out there more, and sharing my message in a bigger or more vulnerable way.
And when it comes up, it's how I know what my next step is. The fear is like a compass.
But that fear - it can be INTENSE. It can cloud you, and make things confusing.
So my message to you today is, please do not let it hold you back!
Here's the TRUTH, no matter what the fear says:
❤️ You have something valuable to share with this world.
❤️ You have something important to say.
❤️ You’re here for an important reason.
❤️ YOU are important.
What would you do, if you weren’t afraid of what people would think?
What would you say if you weren’t worried?
Really, what is it?
We have to feel the fear, and do it anyways.
✨ The good thing is, on the other side of courageous action is clarity and confidence. ✨
And it sucks sometimes! Why do we have to do it? Why does it have to be scary?
Why? Because that’s growth. That’s your evolution. Your journey through to YOU and to experiencing peace and security within yourself.
Staying behind your fear keeps you exactly where you’re at. You stay stuck. You feel more fear staying, than you would just doing the damn thing. I promise you that.
But facing, embracing your fear, and moving towards it, sets you FREE.
It may feel totally uncomfortable, but it’s temporary. It’s the pain of growth.
And the alternative is staying in the pain of staying stuck, limited, and afraid.
✨ The confusion can be cleared up with that simple question, that you know the answer to within yourself -
What would you do or say, if you weren’t afraid of what people think?
And that discomfort from the fear, and the thought of what they'll think? That can be cleared up with one simple step -
Action. Do or say that very thing. ✨
So what's it for you? I challenge you to use that fear like a compass, and do the damn thing.
You've got this.

When you learn how to listen to your intution over your fear, life can expand in all the ways you’ve dreamed of. Being willing to work with fear allows you to feel free to live the life you know deep down you desire.
When we go against our natural rhythm, it can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and overwhelm among other things. Learn how and why to allow yourself to rest, pause, and do less, so that you can have more energy, feel happier, and feel more like yourself. If you’re HSP (a Highly Sensitive Person), you may have a biological reason for needing more rest and downtime. Gain knowledge I use in life coaching to help people know and honor what pace works for them.
When we feel stuck in life, sometimes what we need is a good dose of courage. If we’re willing to look within ourselves and face what’s there, we become free. From there, we can gain clarity and learn how to just be ourselves. We go from powerlessness to empowered, and insecurity to self-confidence. Life coaching can help you have the motivation for this type of work.
With all that’s going on in the world, you might feel overwhelmed and feel waves of emotions. If you’re a highly sensitive person (HSP) you may feel this more than others. Journaling is a powerful tool I use as a life coach to help people gain clarity, have more ease, and find direction in their lives. Learn how to feel like you’re doing enough by using this shift in perspective, and finally start to feel ok resting and relaxing. We often feel overwhelmed and overworked, yet think we need to keep going and do more. The truth is you’re doing enough, and there is a lot of value in resting, play, and pleasure. Gain self-worth by not putting all your worth in your productivity.
In our culture, we often identify our worth with our busyness, and wear busyness as a badge of honor. But all this running around can leave us exhausted and disconnected. It’s empowering to realize how much of a choice you have in what and how much you do, and that you have more of a say than you think. With this shift, you can start to prioritize and live according to your values. What a breath of fresh air and way less burden to carry.
How many ways do we doubt ourselves? Let me count the ways! It’s become so ingrained in our culture, especially if you identify as a woman, to doubt yourself - what you do, how you dress, how much you do, what you say, what you look like… Yet, this is not our natural state. We weren’t born doubting. We learned to doubt. And we can make the empowered CHOICE to begin to TRUST. Yes, it’s a choice, and it can be practiced and learned.
In a culture that expects us to be constantly productive, and lives little time or wisdom for slowing down, it’s easy to become disconnected with the truth of who we are. I work with coaching clients all the time who feel this way - they don’t have a clear sense of their true self. But who we are is underneath all that pressure and busyness. It’s there in the stillness. It’s our essence, and it can never be taken away or lost, only recovered.
When we want more connection, at the heart of that we’re seeking more love in our lives. And although we think we’ll get that from someone else, it actually first starts within ourselves. Three things that can create deeper love and connection in your relationships (including the one with yourself) are vulnerability, courage, and loving-kindness. Learn more about how to embody these energies to create deeper connection in yourself and your relationships.
Perfectionism is something that can keep us stuck or stop us dead in our tracks. It can quickly drain us of our energy and leave us feeling powerless. But, when we shift our view of mistakes, and understand what’s underneath that fear of messing up, we can start taking our power back and feeling more free. Perfectionism doesn’t have to control you if you don’t want it to.
People-pleasing is a habit that can be such a nuisance. But when we learn the truth about what we’re believing and affirming when we people-please, it’s enough to help us break out of this habit and start living a life that’s true to ourselves. Use these helpful perspectives to help break out of people-pleasing mode.
Do you have a desire deep within you to be able to express yourself more? Or to feel like it’s safe to be yourself? It may be just what your soul needs, and one of the keys to unlocking fulfillment and satisfaction in your life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you might think the best thing to do is to try to get a bunch done, so you can feel better, right? But how’s that been working so far? The answer to your overwhelm might not be what you think it is.
Life isn’t just about goals or constant productivity. But we live in a culture that worships the masculine energies (like achieving goals and productivity) and forgets about the power of the feminine energies (like intuition and presence). Understanding the feminine energies can help us move out of perfectionism and start choosing process over perfection. What a breath of fresh air and a weight off your shoulders!
Life’s magic lies in uncertainty, yet when we have anxiety or are filled with fear, that’s the last thing we want. But, when we learn how to ride those waves of uncertainty, and begin to feel SAFE letting go of control, that’s when life opens up and we can do, be, and have what we truly desire, without feeling held back or limited by the need to control and have it all figured out.
